We recommend playing the videos in the order listed.
Web to Excel: This video shows how to get data from a Web page to Excel. Here we assume that the Web page does not have a "Download as Spreadsheet file" option. We will save the Web page as text, and then import the text into Excel using the Text Import wizard. This method should always work to move data into Excel.
Data Preparation: This video shows how to create a formula to format the date in an evenly spaced manner so that graphs are displayed better.
Descriptive Statistics: This video shows how to name the data and calculate the usual descriptive statistics (mean, median, standard deviation) as well as the quartiles and percentiles.
Histogram via Data Analysis: This video shows how to use the Data Analysis wizard to create a histogram.
Histogram via Frequency Function: This video shows how to use the Frequency Function of Excel (an array function) to create a histogram.
Best Fit: This video shows how to use the program BestFit to both create a histogram of the data, and to approximate the distribution of the data with a theoretical distribution.
Confidence Interval: This video shows how to calculate a confidence interval for large sample sizes using Excel. This uses a different database of values than the other videos.
