Overview of Attachments The Attachment option allows you to attach any files on your hard drive to a Bulletin Board or Private Mail message. Click Attach in the Compose a new message window to display the Attach Files window: ![]() Figure 1 Attach Files window To select a file to attach, click Attach. This will display the following screen: ![]() Figure 2 Selecting a file to attach If you already know the name of the local file you would like to attach, type its name in the text-entry box. If you do not know the name of the file you want, click Browse to select a local file from your computer's file listing. Press Continue to attach the file or Cancel to abort the operation. Both buttons will return you to the Attach Files window. Once you have attached files you may show all the files which will be included in the message by clicking List. Figure 3 A listing of all the files that will be attached Click the hyperlinked file name to view the contents of the file. Once you are done, click List to return to the attachment list. Click Done to close the Attach Files window and attach all the files listed. To delete an attachment, select the check box to the left of the filename and press Delete Attachments associated with a message are visible when previewing or reading that message. A message containing attachments will have an Attachments button directly below the Subject line. ![]() Figure 4 A sample a message with an Attachments button Click on the Attachments button to display the View Attachments window: ![]() Figure 5 View Attachments window This window is divided into two frames: the left frame lists all the attachments and the right frame displays an attached file. Note: By default, the first attached file is displayed. To preview another file, simply click on its hyperlinked filename. To download an attachment, select the radio button to the left of it and press Download. Press Done to close the View Attachments window. |
