- Fill in the appropriate information. Note: only the Summary and Access
level fields are necessary; the other fields are optional. The Detail
information does not appear on the monthly calendar. It is only visible
in the View Day screen . Be sure to enter the full URL (i.e. starting with
http:// or //) in the URL text area box.
- The Internal link field is optional. It enables you to add a link to a specific path page or content listing page within the course by clicking Select. This will bring up the Link Selector screen (see Figure 3). If there are no entries selected for internal linking, the word None will appear beside the Internal link field. Once you have added a link, the title of the linked path page will be displayed next to this field.
In the table, the bold print indicates a path content listing page. On this page, select a content listing page or a path page to link to by clicking the check box to the left of it. Press Continue to add the link to your calendar. You can delete a link by clicking the appropriate check box and then pressing Remove Link. Press Cancel to return to the Edit a Calendar Entry screen without making any changes.
Note: Only one type of link may be added per calendar entry. You may not add both an External and an Internal link to the same calendar entry. Also, only one internal link may be selected for each entry.
- Click Add or Update to complete the addition or edit and return to the View Day screen.
- Click Cancel to return to the
View Day screen without making
any changes.
Note:
Students are only allowed to post public or private entries if you have set this option for them. See Settings. The default for calendar entries allows only private entries to be added by you, the instructor.
Students can update only the entries they have added to the calendar. You can edit your own entries as well as any public student entry.
